Technical Considerations for Your Ads

Just some notes to be sure they print out clearly.

If you create your ads in Photoshop, you must consider the initial image set-up of your ad. They should be:

8" W x 10" H - 300 ppi - CMYK (not RGB)
3.5" W x 10" H - 300 ppi - CMYK (not RGB)
5" x 5" - 300 ppi - CMYK (not RGB)

Be sure to scan in all images at 300 ppi at the size you plan on using them. If you plan on enlarging images, however, you will need to scan them in at a higher resolution.

If you pull images from online, you need to be sure they are high enough resolution to print clearly. If you are doing an image search, be sure to select "Large" or "Larger Than" so your search results come back with images well-suited for printing. If you pick small images, and then scale them up to fit into your ad design, they will be blurry, and won't look professional.
