Reminders for Tomorrow's Critique

For the ad project that is due tomorrow, I wanted to put out a few reminders to help you prepare.

  1. Remember that you will not cut your ads out and mount directly on the board. You should set up your board size in Illustrator, just like last project. Then go under File > Place, to place your ads. If your ads have a white background, give them a thin (.5) gray hairline to delineate where the ad ends and the background begins.
  2. Work on cutting your edges smoothly and being sure that your prints are adhered smoothly and securely.
  3. You will have two boards - one for the 8 x 10 ad, and one for the two smaller ads. Refer to the blog post a few back that has the diagram for the board layouts (just ignore the previous board size that was used in prior years). Boards are still 12 x 18, like last project.
  4. You should neatly affix a printed label on back of your boards with all of the info from last time (not your logo words, of course), but this time also include your chosen personal logo.
  5. Be sure your ads are 8 x 10, 5 x 5, and 3 x 10.5 inches at 300 ppi. Anything below 150 ppi is not going to print well, and will be blurry and unclear.
  6. Where you can include some original copy, whether it be a tagline, headline, whatever you see as necessary for your concept. If we talked about including a web address, do that as well.
  7. Be on time! 8AM sharp. Critique begins at 8:15AM, so all work should be up by then.

Thanks everyone! Looking forward to seeing your work tomorrow.
